Recruiting has become a competitive sport at the college level, and the Volquest has a solid reputation. In fact, several of the top players in the sport are already committed to Tennessee. In a recent interview, the Volquest’s coach spoke with the recruiting team about his success. According to him, Volquest is ready to compete with the best programs in the country. However, there is no reason to panic. The Volquest volleyball experts have you covered.
Vols football defensive line coach lasted four games
The Vols football program recently fired defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh. Former Vol Leonard Little offered his services on Twitter. The Tweet has already gotten more likes and retweets than the firing. Perhaps Little’s tweet will be the next Vols defensive line coach. After all, Little is one of the top recruits in Tennessee football. Let’s find out why. And who knows – he might end up staying for at least one season!
The rumors are that Brady Hoke has a background as a defensive line coach. Former Michigan head coach Larry Scott has experience in coaching defensive line units. He was also the defensive line coach at Oregon this past year. Butch Jones’ tenure with the Hurricanes lasted for 12 years. Brady Hoke was a defensive line coach at each stop and his tenure is lengthy enough to cover the entire defense for the Vols.
Jay Hardy is a top football prospect
As a four-star prospect, Jay Hardy is a top target for Volquest. The 6-foot-4, 295-pound lineman has also been attracting interest from Auburn and Georgia. The Chattanooga native has built rapport with Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt, Volquest’s defensive line coach Tracy Rocker and area recruiter Kevin Sherrer. Hardy was reportedly in the process of narrowing his list down to five schools before choosing Tennessee. Hardy has already visited Georgia and Ohio State this summer. He has also planned to make an official visit to Tennessee in the fall.
The recruitment process for Hardy was quite roller coaster-like. Coming out of his junior season, his recruitment surged. Hardy received offers from nearly every major program in the nation. Though many believed that he would sign with Tennessee, he eventually chose Auburn and entered the transfer portal. However, the SEC must pass new bylaws to allow one-time in-conference transfers. Hardy’s decision may not be final until the SEC approves new rules on one-time in-conference transfers.
Ty Simpson’s departure from Volquest
Ty Simpson’s departure from Volquest is a huge blow to Tennessee football. The former Southern California star was a five-star recruit before he was scouted by the Vols. In fact, he committed to Clemson before the pandemic. Apparently, he was approached by another high-profile recruit, Trevor Lawrence, who is the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, Simpson’s departure is not all bad news for Volquest.
The move will create an opportunity for Tennessee volleyball to add a quarterback to its roster. Although Tennessee volleyball has yet to sign a quarterback in the class of 2022, the Titans have signed three other potential quarterbacks: Harrison Bailey and Kaidon Salter. In addition to Ty Simpson, Tennessee volleyball is also working to sign in-state quarterback Sam Horn. Horn is a four-star from Suwanee, Georgia.
Jadyn Davis signs with Tennessee
The Tennessee Volunteers are making more signings ahead of Wednesday’s National Signing Day. One of those players is five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis. The Charlotte, North Carolina, native tweeted about his trip to the Volunteers on Wednesday. He shared pictures of his time on campus and posed with quarterbacks coach Joey Halzle. Tennessee already has a commitment from five-star 2023 quarterback Nico Iamaleava, but it is still looking to secure a future beyond Iamaleava.
Final Words:
The rising sophomore has received a total of 23 scholarship offers. She has worked with coaches across the country and spent every free minute training. In her sophomore season, she was named the SI All-American’s Underclassman MVP, and she made a strong case to win the overall MVP award in a loaded regional event that featured multiple Power 5 commitments in the 2022 class. While she was not able to sign with Volquest because the program does not have the same CFP success pitch as the others, Davis still believes Volquest is a good fit for her future.
